I was sitting at the breakfast table this morning and had one of those dazed moments where I realized I was remembering something from a long time ago again. I said, "Self, you need to use your blog for these things!" LOL
Nicolas is really just a super well mannered kid. I'm so impressed by him every single day. This morning for breakfast he had a homemade waffle with peanut butter smeared on top. He finished eating his waffle and started pointing at my bowl of cereal. This has become his routine, to have a little bit of everyone else's meal. After the first bite though, he pointed and said, "Mo pees" I love that he asks for another bite by saying "more, please!" How cute is that?! Anyway, the moment that popped into my head during this, was that when he first started eating solid foods he used to put his thumb in his mouth after every single bite to help him swallow. It made me laugh when he did that, it still does. I love to watch him figure out his own little solutions. I'm curious to see how Naomi handles the same situations, no doubt it will be quite different from her brother!
As I sit here typing this, Nicolas has emptied out my kitchen for the umpteenth time. He's got a plastic pitcher, a large plastic spoon, some tupperware, the pot holders, and my small nonstick skillet. He went and collected all of the plastic balls that go to his Thomas the Train ride-on toy, and is pretending to crack them open like eggs into the skillet. His imagination is running wild, and now I must go foster that. MMM, egg balls for my second breakfast. Delicious!!
